The MS Society has received many enquiries from people with MS asking whether they should pay to have stem cell treatment.
Although stem cell science is advancing rapidly, there is no scientific evidence as yet to support a stem cell treatment in humans to repair MS damage, and some types of stem cell treatment may be very hazardous. The publicity for the bought treatments has raised people’s hopes, but the MS Society advises people that no scientific data has verified the treatment that is on sale.
