People with MS Support Groups are located around the state and function in accordance with the principle of being a self-help group.
PwMSQ's purpose is to:
• Enable social group meetings that allow for exchange of personal issues and offer mutual support to PwMS
• Support nationally developed advocacy programs at grass roots level
• Facilitate regional feedback on local issues to SMAC members as and when necessary
• Respond to requests, from time to time, by MSQ Board or management for local information regarding issues for PwMS
PwMSQ does not have a prescriptive format and is not a formalised entity. PwMS Support Groups in different regions may have varying focuses from time to time. Support Groups are encouraged to communicate with other PwMS groups within geographical regions to enhance local understanding of issues and facilitate regional based advocacy in support of national advocacy agendas.
MSQ undertakes to assist in regional communication between local groups. MSQ will reimburse PwMS groups for reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred in the undertaking of the group’s purpose.
